At 3:22 PM on 17 November, 2007, Kaczsyk Alyaze Andozsen produced a pistol from a pocket and opened fire on a group of lawmakers emerging from the Areimsede House, injuring five people (three lawmakers and two civilians) and killing one person (a police officer) before shooting himself in the head fatally. Andozsen, who was not diagnosed with any disorder but was likely schizophrenic, had no record of crime and left no note or motive. The shooting lasted less than thirty seconds, during which representatives Vahari Manizsya, Tozskim Gelerezs, and Jinezs Alenas were hit and severely injured, and police officer Kagri Namje was killed. The shooting garnered a near instantaneous response from paramedics and police, who arrived on scene within five minutes.

Andozsen was pronounced dead on scene, while Kagri Namje was pronounced dead on arrival at the Galaszyz General Hospital just a mile away from the Areimsede House building. Of the five others who were shot, Tozskim Gelerezs and Vahari Manizsya were pronounced as in critical condition; doctors originally gave Gelerezs, who had been shot four times, less than a 15% chance of survival. Manizsya was given only marginally better chances, and was rushed into emergency surgery. Despite the negative prognosis for both of them, they both ultimately survived; Manizsya remained in the hospital for over a month, however, and required part of his beak to be amputated as a result of the shooting.

The shooting was widely condemned in both Areimsede and the Kryfona Kingdom as a whole. Flags in the province of Areimsede were ordered to be flown at half staff for three days as a result of the shooting, and several members of the Areimsede House pledged to donate their yearly salaries to the family of Kagri Namje. Although Andozsen was not officially diagnosed with any mental illnesses, some advocates for increased support and funding of mental health services in the Kingdom pointed to the shooting as an example of the consequences of not doing so. Others said that the shooting was merely "a tragic incident" and that no amount of mental health funding could have prevented the shooting. The shooting ultimately led to a bill, cosponsored by Manizsya, allowing mental health checks on persons considered to be potentially ill or potentially dangerous to be done more frequently and with less restrictions. The bill was introduced in April of 2008, and passed the Areimsede House unanimously on 1 May, 2008.
