The Dehel Jadahala (Drakona: ɒʅʌʅɂ ʆɔɒɔʌɔɂɔ) - often shortened to simply Dehel - was a Jadahalan independence movement founded by Yorlon Kahathos in 1231. They were infamous amongst both Edazora's populace and the other independence movements for their extremist ways of achieving independence. They committed a number of terror attacks on Edazoran villages in and around Jadahala from July 1232 up to late 1264. In 1265 following the death of Bodaniya Thale, first king of Edazora, Yorlon Kahatho turned the Dehel Jadahala into a makeshift army and occupied the Jadahala region, starting the First Edazoran Civil War which resulted in the Jadahala Republic being formed. The Dehel Jadahala were officially designated as the army of the Jadahala Republic, and remained so until 1271, when they were disbanded by the Jadahalan government.

History

The Dehel were formed on July 16th, 1231 by then 27 year old Yorlon Kahathos. Yorlon had joined the Lodiya Movement - a peaceful movement which called for the independence of Jadahala - a year earlier, but quickly felt that it was simply too pathetic, having been formed two years prior and still having nothing to show for it. He decided to form his own independence movement, and the Dehel Jadahala were born. The movement started out slow, having only seventy members by years end. Despite this, Yorlon was confident that membership would balloon soon enough. He was correct, and several pogroms and arsons by angry Edazorans in April, May and June of 1232 resulted in the Dehel growing to nearly 1,000 strong in a matter of only three months because of a massive influx of scared Jadahalans.

In July of 1232, Yorlon began terrorizing the small villages of Edazorans near to the Dehel's home base of Tahaalthos. He would every now and then raid them for money and food, and in at least one instance during a raid on  Jalhotoyo, burned several houses down. These raids continued in to 1233, until the Dehel were stopped by a militia force during a raid on Tyojadaa. The resulting clash killed six Dehel and injured another thirteen, including Yorlon. He was sidelined for several weeks, and in those weeks the Dehel were further weakened by numerous militia forces attacking them during or just before their raids. Over a hundred more Dehel were killed or wounded over the span of five raids, almost a sixth of their fighting force. Following this Yorlon halted all Dehel raids. They would not attempt another for seven months.
