The First Edazoran Civil War was a conflict between the Edazora Republic and several Jadahalan independence groups, and later on the Jadahala Republic. It began following the death of King Bodaniya Thale, who was the only thing that had kept Edazora from collapsing into a civil war between the two factions.

The Lead-Up

Ever since the formation of Edazora, there had been a number of groups which clamored for independence from the Republic. Perhaps the most notable of these groups was the Dehel Jadahala, which wanted the Jadahala region of the Edazora Republic to secede from Edazora to form the Jadahala Republic. These groups were - particularly the Dehel - quite disliked by Edazorans, and there was quite an amount of tension between the Edazorans and the independence movements. The only thing which kept things from boiling over was King Bodaniya, who kept Edazora in one piece for the entire time he ruled, and when he died in 1265, things quickly degraded into chaos. Yorlon Kahathos, the leader of the Dehel Jadahala, saw his opportunity, and declared the independence of the Jadahala region. He quickly assembled the Dehel into a rag-tag militia force and began to occupy the towns in the Jadahala region. The most notable of which was Galyos. The occupation of Galyos by Kahathos alerted Ahadales Tolaahaad, the next in line to the throne of the Edazora. Ahadales took no chances. He assembled his own militia, a 16,000 strong force named the Edazora Force, and sent them to crush the Jadahala. The First Edazoran Civil War had begun.

The Early Days of the Conflict

On October 16th, two days after the technical beginning of the war, the Edazora force marched into Jadahala claimed territory, liberating the town of Tyothoqha with no fight, and later that same day they also liberated Sapolho with no fight. On the 17th, the force closed in on Zatolpagat.A scout of Kahathos reported this news to him and he quickly sent his militia force to occupy - or failing that, attempt to take - Zatolpagat. They got to Zatolpagat before the force did by an hour, and the Dehel and Edazora Force met for the first time in the war on October 18th, in the Battle of Zatolpagat. The Edazora Force outnumbered the Dehel militia 2-to-1, quickly overwhelming the Dehel militia stationed in Zatolpagat and forcing them out.

Following the battle, the Dehel retreated towards the village of Thatigahal, about forty miles from Zatolpagat. The Edazoran army trailed close behind, leading to the Battle of Thatigahal on October 22nd. Despite again being outnumbered and outgunned, as well as quite weakened, the Dahal managed to beat back the Edazoran attack. Following this, they retreated once again. The Edazoran force meanwhile reformed its ranks and occupied Thatigahal.

Meanwhile, back in Edazora, Dehel sympathizers in the small village of Yotagahqa formed up a small group called the Dehel Azalihi. They proceeded to attack many of Yotagahqa's villagers killing a minimum of 24 and injuring over 300 in what is called the Azalihi Massacre.
