The United Provinces of Edazora is a federal republic comprised of eight semi-autonomous provinces which are subdivided into territories and capital territories. By law under the 1936 Siraist Constitution, each province is a self-governing area (and thus semi-autonomous), and holds any powers that are not specified by the Constitution. Additionally, any region of Edazoran settlers may petition the Edazoran government to be incorporated into the nation; however, this has not occurred since the incorporation of Dalaiya in 1967.
Although the concept of an Edazoran federal state had been proposed as early as the mid-1800s with the rise of the Yogetaya Ladalthoin ideology, it only gained any sort of mainstream popularity when it was endorsed and used as a platform by Gatala Sira. The resulting political split between Sira and her Siraist movement, and the traditionalists under Ahanan Yilta and the Seyondarsi Ladalthoin was responsible for the Second Edazoran Civil War. As such, the Edazoran federal republic is the most recent of the Old World federations, having only been established by the Siraists when the war ended in 1936.
