The Kryfona Alliance (Kryfona: Kryfona-alyaza; For. Kryf. //; KA or KAl) is a right-wing political party which is among the largest political parties in the Kryfona Kingdom. Established in 1982 as an alternative to the Kryfona Conservative Party, the Kryfona Alliance quickly gained traction among those of a bent farther to the right of the KCP–thus, although it is officially only a traditionally right-wing party, many of the Kryfona Alliance's policies tend to be farther to the right than the party itself. The party's official ideology is a mixture of Conservatism, Kryfona nationalism, and Neyuoszej. Voyikaz Deimet, a former high ranking member of the KCP, was the founder of the party and presided over it from 1982 to 1986. The current party leader is Dafyid Seonar, who was elected to the position in 2010.
History
Background
Although the far-right had been accepted as a part of the Kryfona Conservative Party for virtually all of its existence, beginning in the 1980s it began to find itself a dwindling influence in the party. The far-right had once as a practical matter run the party during the heyday of Impurism and the violent-right—by 1975, however, less than one-third of the total party members fell to the right of the party itself. For the Conservatives, it was largely an act of self preservation: the winds of change were moving heavily against the far-right in Kryfona society where previously it had been accepted, if not necessarily supported. The Telk Avenue shooting had been the straw that broke the camel’s back for many Kryfona, and within a year of the event it was becoming effectively political suicide to support the far-right of the Kingdom in any capacity. Even right-wing parties sought soon to distance themselves from the far-right. In 1976, a measure in the Kryfonsparliszaiye to ban Impurism had passed essentially unchallenged on the back of Royalist support and the influence of the United Kryfona Party--both parties were right wing. The Royalist Alliance called the far-right of the Kingdom ‘cowardly’ and actively sought to shoot down far-right members within the party; in Kryfona, Now!, a similar purge took place. Only the Kryfona Conservative Party really stood fast against the tide—even that came to change, however.
In 1977, the Kryfona Conservatives began a long and significant pivot to the left, driven primarly by then-leader Oszaj Mekelse and the personalities around him. Few Conservatives at the time cared of the matter; however, the far-right was taken aback by the sudden shift by the party. Several far-right members of the party outright resigned when it became clear what was happening with the party, the most notable of which was Jesdyi Magala Pethajek, a senior official in the KCP.
