The Homaite Party (Drakona: ɝʌɔ̊ɩɔ ʌɷ̆ɔȷɾʅ; pronunciation:
i//; Phaaya Homaite) is a leftist Adborthosi party that originated as a political movement surrounding the Homaitism ideology in the mid-1600s. Although the movement had no singular founder -- instead being a collective established by several major intellectuals -- it quickly gained popularity in the mainstream. In 1679, the Homaite Revolt threw out Adborthos leader Ozele Oredorga, replacing him with a Homaitesi, Jalthan Adel. In 1702, another Homaitesi, Garodina Atyel, was also elected, and ruled until 1769.
After the establishment of monarchy in 1771, the Homaite movement fell into relative obscurity as the three monarchs of N. Katila, Zorat Kethoza, and Tethayo Henet discouraged Homaitism and Homaitesi thought. However, with the reestablishment of democracy in 1881 by Tewă Nosõraeatze, the modern Homaite Party was established. It gained its first seat in the Palidaija in the 2nd Assembly of the Palidaija in 1887.
In present times, the Homaite Party has grown to become the second largest party in the Second Republic both in terms of popularity and in Palidaija seats -- of which it holds 16. It has represented the Opposition in the Palidaija since the 16th Assembly of the Palidaija in 1971.
