Alonism (Drakona: ɔ̆ɩ̆ɤȷɤ; Drakona pronunciation: /ˈɑːlˌjoʊ.niːn/; Alyonin; literally "Aloneism") was the ideology and policy of isolationism and cultural preservation under the rule of Tethayo Henet, the last monarch of Adborthos-Yolatho. In earnest, the policy of Alonism (hereafter Alyonin) began with Henet's ascension in 1839; however, the policies that defined the Alyonin period of Adborthos-Yolatho were not passed until the Disestablishment Acts of 1845. Most prominently, the policies of Alyonin called for a return to the pre-monarchic ways of the Adborthos and in particular the restoration of certain Homaitist and Biraist ideals, total military and diplomatic neutrality, and a reversal of military policy and ultimate downsizing of the military. Essentially all of these policies were passed in the Disestablishment Acts, and were eventually incorporated into the ideology Alyonin.
Under Alyonin, the Adborthos-Yolatho Republic was essentially a neutral power in the world, and became more-or-less self-sustaining, although at great cost and ultimately stagnation. Alyonin policies of self-autonomy and Homaitism were reasonably successful for an extended period of time; however, ultimately these policies led to a significant growth in poverty and multiple economic recessions throughout the reign of Henet. Henet's policies of military neutrality and military downsizing also dealt a significant blow to Anetaralaism in the Adborthos-Yolatho Republic; the ideology was banned in the Disestablishment Acts in any case and would not reestablish itself until the early 1900s.
