The term Zemet Loyalist referred to a group of pro-Yaraan, anti-seat ban MPs within the Kryfona Loyalist Party during the summer of 1963. Named after MP Koriz Zemet, the group's "leader" in the eyes of the media, the Zemet Loyalists were critical in the eventual votes to overturn the seat-ban of the YKM, and the later vote to cease the occupation of Yaraa by the Army of the Kryfona Kingdom. The original group of Zemet Loyalists numbered eight, and progressively grew to encompass thirteen of the KLP's twenty-two MPs, enough to form a functional majority in the Kryfonsparliszaiye against the agenda of the rest of their party and the Kryfona Royalist Party. After the occupation of Yaraa was ended and the YKM was allowed to return to the Kryfonsparliszaiye, the group peacefully disbanded itself and returned to caucusing with the KLP.

Definition

In practical terms, a Zemet Loyalist is a loyalist who either shares the views of YKM, or shares the views of the Yaraan people in general. Although all of the original Zemet Loyalists held these views legitimately, more than anything they were views held out of necessity—every one of them represented constituencies in which the YKM held significant sway. Very little else defined the Zemet Loyalists, and beyond their views on Yaraa and the Yaraan people, the group was scantly connected. In that respect, it is not surprising that the Zemet Loyalists were a relatively short-lived group, unlike other historical and ideological splits in the Loyalist faction of the Kingdom.

Ideologically speaking, the majority of the Zemet Loyalists were a progressive group even among the liberal KLP. Despite agreeing on only a few policy points as a collective, almost every Zemet Loyalist was considered to be a part of the KLP's liberal wing. Somewhat ironically, the only original member of the Zemet Loyalists who was not considered liberal was Zemet himself—he was an outspoken centrist. Ultimately, two of the Zemet Loyalists would later go on to represent the Progressive Party at lower levels of the government, and another member, MP Garyis Karezsdaves, eventually renounced membership with the KLP and joined the YKM as a senior adviser.
