Birahe (Drakona: ʋȷʊ̆ʌʅ, Birahe; Kryfona: Birahe; Arieles: Biirahe) is a monotheistic Equo-Kryfonic religion based on the life, teachings, and death of Bira, who is considered to be the physical personification of the Drakonic God. It is the third-largest religion in the Old World, after Syõniism and Kegem, and by far the largest religion in the New World. Overall, there are at least 100 million adherents of Birahe, constituting around half of the religious population of the combined world. These adherents are known as Biraists or Birahesi. Biraists are the majority in the United Provinces of Edazora, the Second Adborthos Republic, the Lyoonos, the Luenas, and the Collective Drakonsiluundes. Birahe teaches that Bira is the mother of all dragons and life, that life was made in her image, and that her life and lifestyle is to be emulated by dragons as they progress through existence. Traditionally, the teachings of Bira and the lineage of her teachers are also to be emulated from birth to death. The major body of scripture for Birahe is the Biragabdaiasi, containing the writings of Bira as well as arbesi (accounts) of her life. Secondary teachings are found in the Andingabdaiasi and Selengabdaiasi.
Biraists consider the teachings of Bira and the teachers after her to be the unaltered word of God, and believe that all dragons are beholden to them. Biraists also generally consider the time before Bira's words to be a time of tribulations for dragon-kind, and hold that such tribulations were exacted upon them by God as a test of faith and worthiness. In line with the other Equo-Kryfonic religions, Birahe teaches a final judgement in which the loyal and worthy ascend to the afterlife, and the unworthy remain in death until they embrace the teachings of Bira. However, the concept of remaining in death is akin more to a Purgatory than a Hell or total death. Biraists adhere to several historical and modern teachings such as the Drakonic Pillars and the Pilgrimage to Dabaresh. The mountain Dabaresh in the Collective Drakonsiluundes is a major holy site for Biraists.
