The Arieles Kingdom (Arieles: Syõniariles Kielos; Arieles: /sn.jɑːr.ɪ.ls k.ls/) is a fairly large landlocked country. It is bordered by the Kryfona Kingdom, the United Provinces of Edazora, and the Adborthos Republic.

History

The Arieles Kingdom and the city of Iliõrafili were officially founded on February 12th, 1287 by Yevălans Arasuilă, the first Arieles king. The kingdom was fairly small at the time, encompassing only a few thousand square miles of land in its early days, leading many to believe that the kingdom would either dissolve and collapse within a few years, or remain small for its entire existence. Yevălans, however, set out to prove them wrong. He immediately began to expand the Arieles, and work towards modernizing it as much as was possible. Nearly two thirds of the Arieles' population - around 40,000 at the time - was put to work on modernizing the small kingdom. A small army of approximately one thousand was also mobilized and trained by Yevălans, the Syõniariles Aralas, which would later come to be called the Army of the Arieles.

The modernization of the Arieles Kingdom worked wonders, and by 1289 the kingdom had nearly quintupled in size, and grown from a population of forty thousand to three hundred thousand. The modernization was not without costs however, as an estimated 1,200 Arieles were killed and another 2,000 injured or disabled during it, mostly as a result of being forced to do manual labor for nearly ten hours in the 100 degree heat of the Arieles summer. Many Arieles absolutely loathed the jobs, and in one instance rebelled against the work and he army had to be called in to keep the workforce down. Still, the modernization worked and to Yevălans that was all that mattered.
