This article is about followers of Kaila Gatil and her ideology. For the Homaitist sect, see Kailaists (Homaitism)

In modern Adborthos politics, a Kailaist (Drakona: ɞɔȷɂɔɛȷ; Drakona pronunciation: /ˌkˈlɑː.s/; Kailasi, also sometimes Gatilist to distinguish from the Homaitist sect) is a supporter of the policy and political positions of Kaila Gatil, the late and former leader of Adborthos-Yolatho. The faction originated in 1967 with the ascension of Gatil to the position of president of the Republic, and was the dominant force in politics until Gatil was killed in a coup d'etat that ended the republic and replaced it with a dictatorship (aiadna). Under the reign of aiad Radina Nenathosin, the Kailaists were effectively outlawed, and many prominent Kailaists (including most of Gatil's cabinet) were exiled, jailed, or murdered. About 13,000 Kailaists in all are believed to have been killed during the three year rule of Nenathosin. After the dictatorship was thrown out and ended by the Adborthos War in 1977, the Kailaists returned to power and have remained the dominant force in Adborthos politics since.

Broadly speaking, Kailaists are very liberal, standing for an Arieles style economy, a downsizing of the military, the protection of labor rights, and the protection of political and civil rights in particular, but also supporting liberal positions across the board. There are small organizations of Kailaists which are to the right of the majority, but they hold relatively little influence politically. Owing to Gatil herself being a member of the party, most Kailaists are associated with the PAAY. However, some are farther to the left of general Kailaists and caucus with the Homaite Party as such.
